December 2024: Distribution in Guantánamo Province

Sole Ties' distribution became even more critical in the wake of the devastation brought by back-to-back hurricanes. In September and October Hurricanes Helene and Milton wreaked havoc on the island with widespread flooding, damage to homes, and a wiped out power grid. As a result of the storms' impact, Sole Ties decided to expand its running shoe donations to adults as well as children. 

Our December distribution took place in the communities of Baracoa, San Antonio de Sur and Imias with the assistance of The Friendship Association. Thank you to all our donors and to those who helped transport the sneakers.
